The story behind the box
Unboxd started in a tiny apartment in Phnom Penh. Our founder, Virak, was tired of boring subscription boxes stuffed with filler. He believed a mystery box should feel like a gift from your coolest friend: someone who knows exactly what you'd love but would never buy yourself.
So he started sourcing. Kit-Kats from Osaka convenience stores. Rare manga volumes from Akihabara. Wireless earbuds from Shenzhen startups that hadn't hit western markets yet. He packed them into boxes, shipped them to friends and filmed their reactions.
Today we curate five categories, ship to 30+ countries and drop new boxes every Friday. The rule hasn't changed: every item must earn its spot.
The curation promise
If we wouldn't want it, it doesn't ship.
Our sourcing team travels across Asia hunting down things you can't just Google and add to cart. We test everything, negotiate exclusives with indie brands, and reject anything that doesn't spark real excitement.

That would ruin the surprise! But we do take preferences into account for subscribers: flag dietary restrictions for snack boxes or console preferences for tech boxes.
